91原创 Cineplex showing movies for ninth annual Community Day

Pandas, trolls and mammoths are all lined up for audiences at Community Day, when Cineplex shows family-friendly movies for charity.

Five movies will be shown at Cineplex theatres, including Cineplex 91原创 on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 14 to raise money for charity. Showing on Oct. 14 are Kung Fu Panda 3, Trolls, Ice Age: Collision Course, Miss Peregrine鈥檚 Home for Peculiar Children, and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.

People can view the movies for free but donations are accepted and the sales of treats goes to the cause as well.

The doors open at 9 a.m. with the movies starting at 9:30 a.m., and 100 per cent of proceeds go to the cause.

For the seventh consecutive year, Cineplex Community Day (鈥淐ommunity Day鈥) will treat people to a selection movies, with all proceeds from donations and select concession sales supporting the company鈥檚 national charitable partner, WE Charity, part of WE 鈥 a family of organizations that makes doing good, doable.

Popcorn, soft drinks and select candy will cost $2.50 each and people can buy a variety of ME to WE Cineplex Change Bracelets with motivational sayings.

Cineplex cinemas also show theatrical performances from around the world.

The Event Cinema Stage Series includes performances captured at venues such as the National Theatre and the Stratford Festival.

The shows begin Oct. 19 and runs through to the end of the year on 67 screens in Cineplex theatres across Canada.

鈥淥ur goal with this series is to extend the reach of these acclaimed productions and make them accessible to Canadians,鈥 said Brad LaDouceur, vice president, Event Cinema, Cineplex. 鈥淚f you cannot go to London or New York, you can enjoy these brilliant performances on the big screen at your local theatre.鈥

Shows include No毛l Coward鈥檚 Present Laughter, Cyrano De Bergerac, Follies, Young Marx, and Holiday Inn.
