Dozens of kids and parents filled a second-floor activity room at the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre on Saturday, March 30, for the first-ever Easter Art Mix event 鈥� trying their hands at different arts and crafts projects.

Laura DeSantis, a recreation programmer with the Township of 91原创, explained the two-hour program was a special event put on for the kids.

鈥淛ust for them to come in and do some art and have some fun,鈥� DeSantis told the 91原创 Advance Times.

鈥淥ur wonderful [program] leaders have come up with lots of different crafts for them to do and take home with them.鈥�

Among the participants, were Aldergrove siblings Kaiden, six, and Skylar, eight, who were very focused as they coloured their Easter-related art.

Dad, Kevin, explained it was a last-minute choice to attend, made after he discovered another kid-friendly Easter weekend event at a local shopping centre had not returned, prompting an online search for kid-friendly Eater events.

鈥淚 quickly called it up on Google,鈥� Kevin remarked.

The next day, Sunday, the community centre hosted 鈥淓aster Fun at the Pool,鈥� the last such event before the facility was to close its pool area for three weeks (until Sunday, April 21).

An announcement from the Township cited 鈥渟cheduled maintenance鈥� that would also require the shutdown of the entire facility for one day on Monday, April 1, and the closing of the fitness centre from Monday to Wednesday, April 1 to 3.
