The 91原创 Community Farmers Market had a booth at the 2024 Canada Day celebrations. It will now take place in conjunction with the Summer Night Series.

The 91原创 Community Farmers Market is working to grow by planting itself in a new location and in conjunction with the Township's Summer Nights concert series.

The market is moving the the 91原创 Events Centre with its selection of local produce, artisinal goods, and other products, taking place at the same time as the free entertainment at the Township amphitheatre.

"We are so excited to be establishing ourselves at the 91原创 Events Centre for this next chapter in the market's history," said Amanda Smith, executive director of the market. "The 91原创 Events Centre Welcome Plaza provides a beautiful, spacious location that will allow us to expand our offerings, while also creating an unforgettable experience for visitors who can enjoy fresh produce and delicious food alongside fantastic live music."

This is the latest location for the market which was held at the Kwantlen Polytechnic University campus in 91原创 City for several years before moving to the Derek Doubleday Arboretum a few years ago. Back in 2018 the market tried a Saturday event in addition to it regular Wednesday event but it didn't do well.

In 2019, before the pandemic hit, the non-profit 91原创 Community Farmers Market Society (LCFMS) announced it was suspending operations to undertake a process of 鈥渞evisioning鈥.

The farmers market gets underway July 3 at the LEC and will operate every Thursday until Aug. 28. The BC Farmer鈥檚 Market Nutrition Coupon Program will still be operational at the new market location.鈥

The Summer Night series happens every Thursday in July and August from 7 to 9 p.m. with an array of local talent suitable for families.

The farmers market is a non-profit organization that supports local farmers, artisans, and small businesses. Since its inception in 2009, the market has provided space for the community to access fresh, locally grown produce, handmade goods, and unique products. With a focus on sustainability and community connection, the market has become a hub for local food and community.
