More than 1,000 attended the Easter open house and fundraiser, LAPS Executive Director Sarah Jones estimated.

All funds raised from the by-donation event went to the animal shelter.

鈥淚 know that we made probably around $1,000, but that wasn鈥檛 ultimately the goal,鈥� Jones remarked.

鈥淚t was the engagement with the community.鈥�

Running from noon till 3 p.m., LAPS third annual Easter event, in partnership with Caprice & Kylene Real Estate Team, allowed kids to participate in an egg hunt, meet the Easter bunny, have their faces painted, and eat lunch at one of the food trucks on site.

Cotton candy and popcorn was also being sold on site.

LAPS volunteers will be on site accepting cash, food, collar, and leash donations for the animal.

鈥淲e鈥檙e so grateful to have everybody come out and learn about LAPS, and see the community support,鈥� Jones said.

鈥淸We鈥檙e] super grateful for Caprese and Kylene to help host this event for us.鈥�

It was also an opportunity for visitors to meet some of the dogs and cats in search of forever homes.

鈥淲e鈥檙e looking forward to seeing a few people come back to do proper adoptions in the next couple of days,鈥� Jones said.
