VIDEO: Sun end Rams undefeated streak

Slow start ends in defeat for 91Ô­´´ team

A slow start by the Rams, seen here earlier in the season, ended in a 41-38 defeat at the hands of the unbeaten Okanagan Sun on Saturday, Sept. 7 at McLeod stadium.

After a slow start in the first half, 91Ô­´´ Rams came roaring back in the second, but were unable to close the gap against the Oakanagan Sun Saturday, Feb. 7 at McLeod Stadium, falling 41-38. 

It was the second meeting for both teams this season.In Week 1 the Sun hosted and beat the Rams 22-15 on the strength of a 13-point third quarter.  

Sun scored 28 points in the first half, while the Rams had an impressive second half which included a 21-point third quarter. 

Running back Elelyon Noa once again led the Sun offence with 303 all-purpose yards. He rushed 32 times for 203 yards and scored three more touchdowns on the ground.  Through the air he hauled in three passes for 100 yards highlighted by a 69-yard screen pass he took all the way to the end zone. 

Kicker Liam Attwood connected on four field goals to add to the Sun scoring. 

Rams were down 28-9 at halftime but came back to draw the game to within one after three quarters. Quarterback Palaina Hooper completed 17 passes for 240 yards and found his favourite target Terrel Jones  for a touchdown.  Hooper also rushed for a touchdown.  

Running back Bruce Jones  carried the ball 12 times for 104 yards and Reggie Elie  scored a pair of touchdowns.

Defensively the Rams added to the scoreboard when Ethan Ginogino picked off a pass and returned it 41 yards for a touchdown.

Rams currently stand third in the seven-team B.C. Conference, just behind second-place Westshore Rebels with the undefeated Sun in first.

Next weekend Rams (5-2) visit the Westshore Rebels (6-1).

Rams will be back at home on Oct. 5 at 4 p.m.  where they will host their bc burn fund game. Firefighters and a fire truck slide will be on site, and there will be fun for the whole family.
