91Ô­´´ Rams scored every quarter to defeat the VI Raiders on the road Saturday, Aug. 10 in Nanaimo.

Rams’ quarterback Palaina Hooper completed only nine passes but gained 225 yards and threw three touchdowns including a 79-yard catch and run to Kai Rawnsley.  Bruce Jones and Natol Tadesse also hauled in touchdown passes on the night.  

The only other major came on the ground on a one-yard TD plunge from Rohan Sharma. 

Defensively, the Rams forced six turnovers led by C.J. Augustine and his two interceptions.  He added four solo tackles and Landon Sommers had six tackles and four assists. 

On the Raiders side, they weren’t able to compile a passing attack like they did the week before. Quarterback Sadler Smith completed 18 passes for 218 yards and found Paul Romanoff for a touchdown. Meanwhile Owen Giancola rushed for their only other major. 

Defensively, they did force five turnovers.  Denzel Ighihon and Felice Toscano each intercepted a pass and Olamide Adegbite jumped on a fumble.

Early in the season, Rams are tied for second in the B.C. Football Conference with the Valley Huskers, while the undefeated Okanagan Sun are in first.

Next weekend the Rams (2-1) visit the Kamloops Broncos (0-3) on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 4 p.m. and the Raiders (1-3) will have a bye week off.
