It was the only meeting of the season of the 91原创 Rams and Kamloops Broncos, with the visiting Rams looking to add a third win while the winless Broncos were trying to snap a four-game losing streak Saturday, Aug. 17 at Hillside Stadium.
It was another blowout win for the Rams, who racked up 607 yards on offence en route to a 38-6 victory.
Previously, on Aug 10, 91原创 downed VI Raiders 28-17 and before that, PG Kodiaks 42-7 on Aug. 3 Rams only defeat so far has been their season opener, a 22-15 loss to Okanagan Sun July 20.
91原创 quarterback Palaina Hooper threw for 316 yards, connecting with Terrel Jones for a touchdown.
On the ground, Reggie Elie, Bruce Jones, and Jayden Sak each scored touchdowns, while defender Dean Meurrens intercepted a pass and returned it 70 yards.
Kamloops QB Brayden Barcsik threw for 134 yards and made the lone Broncos score when he found Kaleb Senz for a touchdown. Senz was the favourite target of the three Bronco quarterbacks who took the field, gaining 128 yards on nine receptions.
With three wins and one loss, the Rams are tied for second in the B.C. Football Conference with the Westshore Rebels, behind the Okanagan Sun, who are undefeated in five games.
Next, on Saturday, Aug. 24, the Rams will host the Valley Huskers for the team's second annual Rams Family Day event.
Gates open at 2 p.m. Kids get in free. There will be bouncy castles, face painting, live music and more. Kickoff is at 4 p.m.
On Sunday, Aug. 18,Rams announced the signing of Vancouver native Gob Deng, a 6鈥�2鈥� 185lb receiver who played the last three seasons at the University of Calgary.
Deng was a 2023 Canada West All Star with 29 receptions for 568 yards and four touchdowns.
The Rams announcement said Deng has "elite level speed and ball tracking skills."
