Mikael Granlund鈥檚 late second-period goal stood up as the winner as the Dallas Stars beat the host Vancouver Canucks 4-1 on Sunday night.

Thomas Harley, Jason Robertson and Mikko Rantanen (into an empty net) also scored for Dallas (42-20-2). Derek Forbort had the lone goal for Vancouver (29-23-11).

Former Canuck Casey DeSmith made 22 saves to pick up the goaltending win. Kevin Lankinen stopped 15 shots in absorbing the loss.

The Canucks now sit one point back of the Calgary Flames, who hold down the final wildcard playoff spot in the NHL鈥檚 Western Conference.

After a scoreless first period, Harley opened the scoring with his 12th goal of the season. His point shot found its way through several bodies in front and past Lankinen.

Forbort tied things up 11:35 into the period with his first goal of the year, sneaking in from the point and converting a Conor Garland pass.

With 26 seconds left in the frame, Granlund pounced on a point-shot rebound and beat Lankinen for the eventual winner.
