Editor: When we, the 91原创 Memorial Hospital Heritage Committee, first hatched the plan to open a museum of hospital archives, we could never have imagined the enormous response from the community.

The opening on July 22 of the archival museum, which is in Michaud House, 5202 204 St., was a huge success. We have been overwhelmed by the interest and generosity of those who attended and those who contributed dozens of artifacts, photos and newspaper clippings.

Many were retired doctors, nurses and other staff members of LMH, which marks its 70 anniversary next year. Others, with no long-term connection other than the fact that LMH was their birthplace, are enjoying a look at the past.

Wednesday, Aug. 23 marks the first occasion that the museum will be open to the public. It will be staffed by our committee of volunteers: Doris Riedweg, Maxine Juzkow, Kate Ludlam, Donna Barwish, Sharron Trickett, Val Dirks, Shirley McGonigal, Bev Brown, Bev Rempel, Marylee McCallum, Norma Guellette and Natasha Jones.

We will be open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and are pleased to report that we are already accepting bookings for September.

Entry is free, but a donation dropped into a stainless steel bedpan will be happily accepted.

Natasha Jones,
