Teen patrons of Vancouver’s Ultimate Dance Club in 91ԭ are shown in a picture posted on the now-defunct club web site. It announced it was going out of business on Sept. 15, a week after a lease sign went up on the Eastleigh Crescent building.

After announcing a temporary shutdown five months after it opened in 91ԭ, Vancouver’s Ultimate Dance Club for teens has now closed permanently.

The decision was posted on the club’s Facebook page on Thursday.

“Hi to all of you,” the message read.

“Due to circumstances beyone our control, Vancouver’s Ultimate Dance Club is closed. Thank you for your patronage. So long for now.”

It was posted a few days after a for lease sign went up on the former 91ԭ Legion building on Eastleigh Crescent in 91ԭ City.

The operators of the club and the leasing company did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Times.

The club for 14- to 18-year-olds had announced a one-month shutdown for August, blaming a substantial drop in attendance from the initial overflow crowds when it opened in March.

Some patrons posted comments on the Facebook web page complaining the club was too expensive for young people.

“$11.50 [admission] every weekend plus cab and refreshments inside adds up,” one said.

The club also drew noise complaints from nearby townhouse and apartment building residents, whose grievances included vandalism, pot smoking and public drunkenness among the club’s underage patrons.
