Canucks players celebrate after scoring a goal on Wednesday (Jan. 15).

After suffering through a franchise-worst six-game losing streak earlier this month, the Abbotsford Canucks have rattled off four wins in a row after taking down the Ontario Reign on Tuesday (Jan. 14) and Wednesday (Jan. 15).

Arturs Silovs came up huge on Wednesday, making 42 saves in a 5-2 win.

Abbotsford was out shot 15-9, 15-8 and 14-4 in the three periods, with Silovs making key saves in the first two frames and keeping the Reign off the scoreboard.

Abbotsford's Nate Smith scored the lone goal of the first period at 13:45 after a nice individual effort by defenceman Erik Brännström.

Nils Ã…man put the Canucks up by two at 15:04 of the second period and Linus Karlsson added a power play goal at 19:18 of the second after a perfect set-up involving Christian Wolanin and Brännström.

The Reign wouldn't go away though, as Samuel Fagemo scored on the power play at 10:50 of the third. Canucks defenceman Cole McWard restored the two-goal lead at 15:25, but Ontario struck again on the power play at 17:23. Forward Sammy Blais added an empty net goal.

Aatu Räty recorded three assists, while Wolanin, Brännström, Mark Friedman and Nate Smith all had two point nights. Räty was also a team-best +3 on Wednesday. Reported attendance on Wednesday was 3,092.

The Canucks also disposed of the Reign 6-3 on Wednesday.

The teams were tied 1-1 after one, buth the Canucks took over in the second period with three goals to cruise to the win.

Räty had another big offensive night with one goal and three assists. Nate Smith (one goal and one assist) and Arshdeep Bains (two assists) both had two point nights. Other Canucks to score included: Dino Kambeitz, Chase Wouters and Karlsson.

Nikita Tolopilo made 23 saves in the win and both Bains and Räty were a +2. Both teams recorded 26 shots. Reported attendance on Wednesday was 3,374.

The four-game win streak has been achieved by the Canucks twice this season, but they've never made it to five. Abbotsford can try to make it five when they host the San Jose Barracuda on Saturday (Jan. 18) and Sunday (Jan. 19).

Abbotsford's record now moves to 18-15-1-1 and they sit in the seventh and final playoff spot in the Pacific Division.
