The Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver areas are being pelted by heavy rainfall Saturday, Oct. 19.
Both cities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows have released lists of roads that are closed due to flooding.
Roads closed in Maple Ridge include:
- 224 Street between 132 and 136 Avenues
- Lockwood Street is closed between 109 and 112 Avenues
- 232 Street between Foreman Drive and Anderson Creek Road (crew on site)
- The westbound lane of Lougheed Highway between St. Anthony's Way and 287 Street
"Please do not drive through barricaded areas and use alternative routes. These roads will reopen once water levels are safe," the City posted on Facebook.
Residents in low lying areas are advised to have a plan to prevent damage to their homes. Sandbags are available at the Maple Ridge City Operations Centre (23925 Dewdney Trunk Rd.).

Roads closed in Pitt Meadows are Hammond Road, Albertan Street, and Airport Way near Southgate Road.
There is no access to the Golden Ears Bridge or Pitt Meadows via Hammond Road or Airport Way.
"These closures are expected to extend into tomorrow. Please be careful on all roads and sidewalks," the City posted online.
