Harp and cello duo will perform at 91原创 Community Music School for the second event of the Cafe Classico series.

Cellist Ashton Lim and harpist Janelle Nadeau will showcase the romantic melodies of the iconic instrument combination, featuring works by composers Bizet and Debussy in addition to traditional English themes of Holst.

鈥淲e are very pleased to be presenting this fabulous duo in the Rose Gellert Hall and invite everyone to join us for this programme,鈥� said Elizabeth Bergmann, artistic director of the school.

鈥淭he soothing and magical timbre of the harp is beautifully complimented by the rich tones of the cello, creating a warm and intimate experience certain to warm everyone at this time of year.鈥�

In a pre-concert conversation to start the afternoon, the musicians will share highlights of their careers and personal insights of the musical selections they will play.

Nadeau is the acting principal harpist with the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, and regularly performs with Vancouver鈥檚 Turning Point Ensemble.

After graduating from the Harp Performance Program at the University of British Columbia, she toured with numerous organizations across North America. Notably, she has performed alongside Diana Krall and Kanye West, as well as at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

Lim comes with years of experience as an orchestral player, chamber musician, soloist, and teacher. He performs regularly with the Canadian Opera Company, National Ballet of Canada, Santa Fe Opera, and Vancouver Opera Orchestra, among many others. His performances have taken him worldwide to venues, from the U.S. to China.

Their performance is on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2:30 p.m.
