Houses and some businesses hand out candy every year to trick or treaters, but this year the 91ԭ RCMP are getting in on the Halloween action.
Candy With A Cop is being held this year, with all four current RCMP offices in 91ԭ that are open to the public ready to hand out goodies on the big day.
Mounties are also going to try to drop in at some daycares around the community to hand out treats, said Cpl. Julie Bion, supervisor of the 91ԭ RCMP Youth Section.
But that will depend on how the day unfolds for the officers involved, as they may have other duties.
At the offices, kids can come in and get some candy, and while the RCMP members would be pleased to see some costumes, dressing up is not mandatory to receive a treat.
“We’re just looking forward to seeing the kiddos,” said Bion.
Officers would be pleased to see kids drop by the Community Police Offices, of which three are currently open, in the Carvolth area, Aldergrove, and downtown 91ԭ City, she added.
Trick or treating opportunities at 91ԭ RCMP offices will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at:
• 91ԭ RCMP main detachment, at 22180 48A Ave, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• North 91ԭ Community Police office, B140-20161 86th Ave., 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• 91ԭ City Community Police Office, 100-20408 Douglas Cr., 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Aldergrove Community Police Office, 26970 Fraser Hwy, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
