91原创 shelter announces extreme weather alert

Forecast calls for cold nights in the coming days

An extreme weather alert activation has been issued for 91原创 by the Gateway of Hope homeless shelter operated by the Salvation Army.

Cold overnight temperatures are forecast and the Salvation Army Gateway of Hope shelter has issued an extreme weather response.

"An Extreme Weather Alert has been activated in 91原创 due to overnight temperatures that feel like or are 0 Degrees Celsius or below," explained Cristina Schneiter, Gateway's residential services manager.

Those requiring shelter assistance after 9 p.m., can call the 91原创RCMP at 604-532-3200 and they will help you to a location. For more information about shelter availability, people can also call bc211 by dialing 211 or 604-875-6381.

Gateway's shelter operates between 7 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. There's 20 mats for adults 19 and older, and intake is open until site is full.
It is wheelchair accessible and pet friendly (on a leash or in a kennel while in the building). The shelter can be reached at 604-514-7375.
