Abbotsford police arrested a man and woman after a snowy chase in the Sumas Mountain area last month.

A man and woman face charges after a snowy police chase related to a stolen vehicle in Abbotsford last month.

David Anderson was dealt eleven charges, including theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, driving while prohibited, breach of probation/release order and obstruction.

Anderson, who police describe as a 40-year-old prolific offender, was also arrested on several outstanding warrants, according to an Abbotsford Police Department news release on Wednesday (March 5).

Meanwhile, 33-year-old Kristina Wardell is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and obstruction.

The charges come in connection to a stolen Ford F450 tracked into Sumas Mountain on the morning of Feb. 17. The vehicle was allegedly stolen from a 91原创 hotel parking lot and contained the hockey gear of the owner's son.

Officers found the truck unoccupied in the snow, with the hockey gear missing. According to the release, officers discovered another vehicle believed to be connected to the stolen truck near the summit.

APD said both police and suspect vehicles became stuck in the snow before Anderson and Wardell fled on foot.

"After a lengthy foot chase on steep, icy terrain, officers successfully apprehended both Anderson and Wardell," the release reads.

The stolen hockey gear and other contents of the stolen tuck were found in the second vehicle and returned to the owner.
