Woman stabbed, man injured in North Delta knife 'dispute'

Delta Police Department responded to reports of a woman bleeding in the street

A man and a woman were taken to hospital Friday (March 7) after what Delta Police are describing as a "dispute with a knife" in a North Delta neighbourhood.

Police were called to the 11500 block of 81A Ave. at about 4 p.m. Friday for a report of a bleeding woman in the street, according to a Delta Police Department press release.

They found a 34-year-old Delta woman suffering from stab wounds and also found a 37-year-old man in a basement suite with what police describe as a "knife wound." Both were taken to hospital.

The woman is reported to be in stable condition, while the man was released and is in police custody, the DPD reported on Saturday. No chrages have yet been laid.

The investigation is ongoing.

The two people are known to each other, and the injuries are believed to stem from "a dispute between the parties," the press release says.
