Trans Mountain has announced that all major pipeline construction work in 91Ô´´, as well as Surrey and Abbotsford, is complete.

The project to almost triple the capacity of the oil pipeline, which runs from Northern Alberta to a refinery in Burnaby, has taken years and gone tens of millions of dollars over budget.

While work continues on a few locations in B.C., Trans Mountain announced last week that the only ongoing work in the 91Ô´´ area will be intermittent work by crews installing valves, cleaning up right of ways and road access sites that were built during the construction, and re-seeding, re-planting, and land reclamation work around the route.

Construction began locally in 2022.
