Ashley Sturtevant and her family from Aldergrove have done a bigger and better Christmas light display this year.
鈥淢y family has always had a love for Christmas lights and decorations,鈥 she commented.
This is their fifth year of dressing up their home in colourful, bright lights, and more was added each year.
鈥淭he Christmas spirit has taken over and we鈥檝e really upped our game! We love creating a fun and magical place for the community to visit and enjoy,鈥 Sturtevant shared.
Inspired from memories of visiting neighbours鈥 displays when her kids were young, Sturtevant wanted to build a vibrant display of her own.
鈥淎s the [kids] got older, I decided I want to help create those special memories for other families as well.鈥
With a sponsorship from her Aldergrove-based business, Perfection Cleaning, Sturtevant鈥檚 home is decked up with unique decorations including several Christmas trees, blow molds, Rudolph leading Santa鈥檚 sleigh.
The newest addition is a big wreath, which is the main feature of her display and hangs above the entryway. In fact, Sturtevant鈥檚 light display this year is named after it, 鈥淏eneath the Wreath.鈥
Cash and non-perishable food donations can also be left with Sturtevant, who will take them to the Aldergrove Food Bank.
鈥淭o me, Christmas is about the time spent with the ones you love鈥 Christmas holidays have become heavily focused on gift giving, and I feel as though that鈥檚 taken away from what it鈥檚 really all about,鈥 Sturtevant said.
鈥淢y goal with our light display is to provide that special memory for families for years to come.鈥
Her display, which will be up until early January every night from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., is located at 26965 26th Ave.
