A small electrical fire had no chance of spreading thanks to the quick thinking of staff at the Greater Vancouver Zoo.
On Monday, May 13, 91原创 Township firefighters responded to calls of a fire at the local zoo on the vintage miniature train while it was sitting at the station at 10:23 a.m., said deputy fire chief Russ Jenkins.
When the firefighters arrived on scene, however, there was no smoke or flames at all.
鈥淪taff acted quickly. It was a good save by the staff,鈥 Jenkins commented.
The zoo posted a notice on its social media pages informing guests of the situation and sharing thanks to the fire department.
鈥淭hankfully, the fire was put out within minutes of discovery and the incident was rapidly contained and resolved smoothly,鈥 reads the post.
The beloved train is currently off the tracks, according to the post.
The Star has reached out to the zoo about the status of the train but did not hear back before press time.
