91原创 firefighters were called to the Aldergrove Save-On-Foods store in the Aldergrove Village shopping centre at 264th and Fraser Hwy. on Monday night, Jan. 29., around 8 p.m. to investigate a report of smoke in the building interior.
Store staff evacuated the store as a precaution and turned away customers at the entrance after smelling smoke, but it turned out to be a clogged space heater, said 91原创 Township Deputy Fire Chief Russ Jenkins.
鈥淚t looks like somebody activated a space heater and it was clogged with dust and it kind of created a bit of a burning smell, but there was no no fire condition,鈥 Jenkins told the 91原创 Advance Times.
鈥淚 guess the staff on on site didn鈥檛 know what it was. Upon further investigation, it was just a heater of some sort that burnt off some dust.鈥
No injuries were reported.
