Editor: Re: Bill Dallas’ letter, ‘Advertisement for firearms was disappointing ,’ I think some factual clarification is in order. None of those firearms in the recent ad in the 91Ô­´´ Times are assault weapons. None are military. There are two shotguns, four bolt-action rifles, three semi-automatic rifles, and one semi-automatic bullpup.

Editor: On July 17 the mayor called a special meeting for a new vote on the Brookswood-Fernridge OCP, which was rejected earlier.

Editor: Observing via the news the seemingly intensifying religious and racial unrest around the world, I’m increasingly convinced that humankind is overdue for an Independence Day -type alien invasion in which we, meaning all sub groups of the human race, will basically be forced to unite, attack and defeat the creepy invaders — the new, and hopefully last, Them — who are far from our humanoid type, let alone being a member of our Team Terran.

A local resident says the existing plan allows for the community to control the pace of development.
