Aldergrove resident Bud Stephenson brought a trailer filled with auto parts to the parking lot at Aldergrove Community Secondary School for the post-91原创 Good Times Cruise-In swap meet.
鈥滻 used to have a parts store and now I got a ton of stuff left over.鈥 Stephenson explained.
鈥滻鈥檓 just doing it out of this trailer. It鈥檚 kind of a one-shot deal.鈥
Stephenson was among more than 100 vendors who packed the parking lot on Sunday, Sept.10.
Larry Lazarich from Surrey was looking to free up some space, 鈥渢o get rid of all my old stuff that I鈥檝e been collecting for years.鈥
He brought some of the Dodge products that have been stored in his 3,500-sq. ft. shop.
鈥淚 have a Hemi Charger, I have all sorts of stuff, really cool, old Dodge stuff,鈥 he told the 91原创 Advance Times.
鈥淚t鈥檚 time to let go of some of the stuff I have.鈥

Mike Herrick from South 91原创 was selling a beautifully restored and updated red and white classic 1950鈥檚 Pontiac.
鈥淚 just finished doing all the motor, tranny, driveshaft, brakes,鈥 Herrick summarized.
鈥淚t鈥檚 road ready.鈥
鈥淧ontiac is sort of the unsung hero, right?鈥 Herrick added. 鈥淓verybody wants an Impala, but if you see a Pontiac, you pretty much are going to fall in love.鈥濃

Looking at the cheerful congestion, Cruise-In president Riccardo Sestito was thinking the swap meet might need more space next year.
鈥淚鈥檓 looking around right now thinking, oh, we鈥檙e gonna have to find a new location,鈥 Sestito commented.

It was a very good year for Cruise-In, which may have become the largest outdoor car show in Canada.
鈥淚 actually spoke to a fellow from Manitoba yesterday, and he said that he鈥檚 never seen a car show this big, outdoors,鈥 Sestito related.
鈥淚 spoke to a few people from Toronto [who came out to attend Cruise-In]. They had told me that this is probably the cleanest, most well-organized, friendliest car show that they鈥檝e ever been to, and they go to a lot of car shows. So I think we鈥檙e getting to number one on the map.鈥
All money generated by the swap meet goes to the four main charities supported by Cruise-In, along with a number of other causes.
