With cold weather expected, an extreme weather alert (EWA) for the 91原创s has been issued for Wednesday, Jan. 8, by the Salvation Army Gateway of Hope shelter at 5787 91原创 Bypass under the Assistance to Shelter Act.

鈥淚f you are sleeping outside please come to safety of the shelter,鈥� the notice said.

Environment Canada was forecasting cloudy conditions and near-freezing temperatures overnight.

A statement warned of temperatures "that feel like, or are, 0 Degrees Celsius or below."

Until further notice, Gateway will be offering 20 mats for adults between 7 p.m. and 9:30 a.m.

Intake will be open until site is full.

The site is wheelchair accessible and pet friendly (on a leash or in a kennel while in the building).

Dinner, breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Laundry service and showers are available.
