91原创 Township is adding evening events to its Canada Day program, in addition to daytime activities.

A full day of family-friendly fun is planned for Canada Day on Monday, July 1, with a daytime event at McLeod Athletic Park (MAP) followed by a new evening event featuring a drone light show at Willoughby Community Park. Admission is free to both events.

Both events will feature a variety of activities, live entertainment, food, and more. Look for full event details, including performance schedules, at .

鈥淚 look forward to seeing residents and visitors joining us at McLeod Athletic Park and Willoughby Community Park to celebrate Canada Day,鈥 said Mayor Eric Woodward. 鈥淚鈥檓 excited that we have added a new evening event to our festivities and that the Township is hosting a pollution-free, drone light show. I hope everyone brings their family and friends to both events to not only celebrate Canada Day, but to also celebrate what an amazing community we have here in the Township.鈥

The public can go to McLeod Athletic Park to enjoy games, activities, food trucks, local breweries, local artisans, live entertainment on the Spirit Stage, and more. Kids can take advantage of bouncy castles, face painting, and arts and crafts.

Events at MAP, 5687 216 St., run 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an official ceremony at noon.

New this year is an evening event at Willoughby Community Park, where the sky will be illuminated with a drone light show at 10:15 p.m. This will be the first drone show in the Township. The drones will be used to create formations and designs in the night sky. People are advised to bring a blanket or chair and enjoy live entertainment in the amphitheatre before and after the drone show, as well as treats from local food trucks.

Evening events are from 8 to 10:30 p.m. at the park, 7755 202A St.
