A free, three-month fitness initiative by 91原创 City is back again, and aimed at getting older adult, especially, more active.
The City鈥檚 Choose to Move returns starting next month.
The personalized program is set to run from Sept. 16 to Dec. 9, and encourages individuals to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle, explained recreation supervisor Christine Daum.
Choose to Move is designed to cater to older adults seeking a tailored approach to physical activity, she elaborated.
The initiative offers participants the opportunity to work one-on-one with a certified activity coach to create personalized action plans, aligning with each participant鈥檚 specific needs, interests, goals, and abilities.

The program, offered in partnership with the BC Recreation and Parks Association and the University of British Columbia鈥檚 Centre for Hip Health and Mobility, employs a science-based approach, aimed at making fitness enjoyable and adaptable by seamlessly integrating into participants鈥 daily routines, Daum said.
鈥淏eing active is one of the most important things you can do to maintain your overall health. Being active can help you feel better, be stronger, and keep your independence,鈥 she emphasized.
Choose to Move extends its support beyond individual consultations.
Participants will also benefit from regular motivational group meetings and consistent check-ins with their dedicated activity coach, suggested Daum.
鈥淭hese components collectively contribute to a holistic support system, ensuring participants stay on track and motivated throughout their journey toward a healthier lifestyle,鈥 she added.
To kick off the enrolment process, prospective participants are required to attend an information session, which will take place at the Timms Community Centre (20399 Douglas Cres.) on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 11:30 a.m.
