Threads that Bind Us, the 91原创 Quilters鈥� Guild show and sale, has moved to Christian Life Assembly church.

The move affords 鈥渙odles of parking, and more room for the guild鈥檚 gift shop, explained show chairperson Lisa Brandt.

The members of the guild will be displaying their fabric creations at the church at 2127 56th Ave. on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11. It falls on the two days before Mother鈥檚 Day so there will likely be many mom outings.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a beautiful event to bring mothers of all ages to have a cup of a tea and purchase gifts for them and view amazing quilts,鈥� Brandt said.

There will be more than 250 quilts and quilted art pieces on display at the show that serves as a fundraiser for the guild.

Includes in that are some special items 鈥� 鈥渙ur Community Quilt booth (which is most important directive of our guild, a memorial of five members who have passed, the Raffle Quilt, Challenge Quilts, and Youth Quilts,鈥� Brandt explained.

Challenge quilts are a guild contest with set criteria. Youth quilts are made by members grandkids. There are about 10 entries.

At the show, people can see the quilt being raffled by the guild. The $2 tickets enter people into the draw for the quilt with two matching pillow shams.

People can also stop by the tea room when it鈥檚 time for a sit down, the gift shop with items made by guild members, or the vendors鈥� marketplace. The event is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 10, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 11.

Admission is $10, and Brandt noted that in the past the sale has been cash only but the guild is now ready to accept payment by card.

鈥淭hese shows help us raise funds to cover expenses related to our guild, including rent for our meetings, purchase fabric and batting for our community quilts, and bring special guests to encourage our growth of techniques and knowledge of textiles in quilting,鈥� she explained.

The 91原创 Quilters鈥� Guild meets the fourth Wednesday of every month except December at the George Preston Recreation Centre with day meetings and evening meetings.
