Up for a tasty challenge?

91原创 Eats Local is challenging locals to spend just one week sourcing as much of their food as possible from local farmers and producers.

The challenge runs between the next two Wednesdays, July 26 to Aug. 2.

In addition to gratification and education, there are also some prizes up for grabs.

鈥淵ou define your own goals, whether sourcing everything possible from 91原创, or allowing yourself five non-local ingredients for the tricky things like flower or rice, or drawing a 300-km radius,鈥� explained Ava Reeve, agricultural program coordinator with the 91原创 Environmental Partners Society, and organizers of this year鈥檚 challenge.

This could prove to be a week of feasting or fasting.

鈥淵ou might be surprised what you can get from locally owned businesses, including high-quality olive oils, coffee, and even chocolate,鈥� Reeve said.

The event is organized by LEPS and hosted by the 91原创 Community Farmers Market, which will host a free 91原创 Eats Local event during the Aug. 2 farmers market, from 12 to 4:30 p.m. at the KPU 91原创 campus.

People can sign up for the challenge through the 91原创 Eats Local Facebook page, where they can also receive tips and tricks, and enter to win tasty treats.
