It’s Mercy time again.
Run for Mercy 5K and Family Walk is back and happening this Saturday, May 13 in Aldergrove to make a difference in the lives of hurting young women from across Canada.
The event begins at 9 a.m. at Aldergrove Lake Regional Park, with pledges being accepted to help fundraiser for Mercy Canada, a non-profit Christian organization dedicated to helping young women break free from life-controlling issues such as eating disorders, self harm, drug and alcohol addictions, unplanned pregnancy, depression, sexual abuse, and trafficking.
Meanwhile, speaking of Mercy and Christians, one of the biggest names in contemporary Christian music is in the Fraser Valley today (Thursday, May 11).
, a group with more than a dozen albums to their credit and countless awards and even some Grammy nominations, are performing in the Abbotsford Entertainment Centre starting at 7 p.m.
The group has released over a dozen albums. Their latest album, Lifer, debuted in third spot on iTunes charts in March 2017, and they have had 13 consecutive top five singles on the Billboard Christian songs chart, with seven of them reaching Number 1.
The band has won eight Dove Awards and has had many Grammy Award nominations.
This is the group’s only stop in Canada, and it’s happening thanks to a relationship with 91Ô´´â€™s Trinity Western University, said spokesperson Linda Munro.
