The Glow is growing.
Darvonda Nurseries offered Glow, a massive Christmas display in Milner, attracting big crowds in December 2017 and now the local business is expanding in a couple of directions.
This year, the 91原创 Christmas event will double its square footage, and a new festival, Harvest Glow, has been created for autumn.
鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to unveil Harvest Glow, which will run Sept. 27 to Oct. 31, also at the Milner Village Garden location. Families will easily spend two hours enjoying all the activities, like an indoor pumpkin patch, a hay maze, animal petting stable, and even nine holes of mini golf,鈥 said Lawrence Jansen, CEO, Darvonda Nurseries.
鈥淎nd of course, thousands of lights, and animated light sculptures. Our farmers market will also be the perfect place to buy fresh, local produce.鈥
Christmas Glow is also going on the road, expanding to Edmonton, and negotiations are underway for additional Canadian and U.S. cities.
This year鈥檚 theme will be Around the World with the display set up to show visitors country by country as they follow Santa on his journey.
The expanded space is expected to host 150,000 visitors Nov. 22 to Jan. 19, and will feature an estimated one million lights throughout 4,000 square metres.
鈥淓verything we鈥檝e designed this year has families and community at the heart of it. We鈥檝e added more children鈥檚 play areas and increased parking and indoor seating to make the experience more enjoyable from start to finish,鈥 said Jansen.
鈥淥ur community has so many rich resources, from artists to farmers, this is an ideal event to bring everyone together.鈥
The Jansen family started Darvonda back in 1975 in 91原创. Byron and Tamara Jansen grew the operation to include seven sites and 27 acres.
