91原创 91原创 forward Ryan Schelling has a tendency to hit what he aims at, whether it's on a golf course, where the 20-year-old from New York shoots in the low 80's, or on the ice, where the leading point-getter has scored 49 points (22 goals and 27 assists) in 35 games so far this season.
And then, there was the BCHL All Star Weekend.
Playing three-on-three hockey for Team Yellow, Schelling got on the board, accounting for one of four goals as the team downed BCHL Black 4-2, before going on to be defeated by BCHL Purple 7-4.
Schilling also made an impression during the skills competition, placing second in the accuracy shooting competition, just behind Parker Lalonde from the Brooks Bandits.
BCHL's 2025 All-Star Weekend took place in Salmon Arm Jan. 17-19.
It was an opportunity for top players to be seen, explained Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) President Mark MacDonald.
鈥淓vents like these attract scouts from all over North America to see some of the best junior hockey players in Canada" MacDonald said.
Schelling's teammates had the weekend off, but with the all-star break over, 91原创 will go on the road.
Friday, Jan. 24 in Duncan will be the first meeting of the season between 91原创 and Cowichan Valley Capitals.
91原创 won two of the four meetings with the Caps last season. 91原创 comes in having lost four in a row, while the Capitals have dropped their prior two contests.
Schelling will come into Friday鈥檚 game in Cowichan looking for point number 50.
Saturday, Jan. 25 in Victoria will be the third meeting of the season between the 91原创 and Grizzlies, and the first two have been close one-goal games. Victoria has won five in a row.
Riv are back home at George Preston arena on Saturday, Feb.1 to host the Chilliwack Chiefs. Puck drop is 7:25 p.m.
