Win clinches second

91Ô­´´ Rams game against the Westshore Rebels got off to a fast start Saturday,Oct.5,  with the Rams getting a touchdown in the opening minutes at McLeod Athletic Park.

They went on to win 24-13 to clinch second spot and a home field playoff advantage next weekend at McLeod. 

Nicole Longacre-O'Brien, wife of late RCMP Const. Rick O'Brien, handled the coin toss for First Responders night. 

Quarterback Hunter Norman completed 12 of 19 passes for 249 yards and threw a pair of touchdown passes to Terrel Jones in the win.  Jones caught six passes for a game high 142 yards.  Running back Reggie Elie carried the ball 30 times for 127 yards. 

Defensively Rams held the Rebels to 72 yards on the ground and forced eight turnovers including five interceptions.  CJ Augustine made three picks, highlighted by an 84-yard return for a touchdown.  Isaiah Edwards added two interceptions and Ethan Ginogino collected 7.5 solo tackles. 

Rebels lone touchdown in the ball game came in the first quarter when pivot Ethan Pickard hit Linden Williams for the score. 

These two teams will see each other again next weekend in the playoffs when the Rams host the Rebels in a BC Conference semi-final.
