After a standout rookie year, Alicia Perrin has been selected to play for Canada in next month鈥檚 FISU World University Games (Summer Universaide).
Perrin averaged 1.26 blocks per set, second in the conference, and had a team-leading attacking percentage of 25.0 per cent for the Trinity Western Spartans women鈥檚 volleyball team.
The middle blocker was one of the 12 players named by Volleyball Canada on Tuesday for the World University Games, which run Aug. 14-21 in Shenzen, China.
Perrin, the Canada West rookie of the year, was also named to the Canadian Interuniversity Sport all-rookie team and helped the Spartans win bronze at nationals.
