Intermediate Thunder make provincials

With the season on the line, the 91原创 intermediate A Thunder came through in the clutch.

The Thunder, backstopped by the stellar goaltending of Giulio del Bianco, came away with a convincing 13-5 victory over the Delta Islanders on Sunday at the 91原创 Events Centre.

The win advances 91原创 to this weekend鈥檚 provincial championships, the first time the team has accomplished that goal since coming to town a few years ago.

The Thunder were fourth during the regular season in the B.C. Intermediate Lacrosse League with a 13-11 record in the nine-team league.

In addition to the team鈥檚 success, 91原创 received some great individual seasons as well.

Brett Dobray led the league with 68 goals, James Baker was third in points with 98, and James Rahe was the team鈥檚 top two-way player, finishing tenth in league scoring with 81 points.

The Thunder play at New Westminster鈥檚 Queen鈥檚 Park Arena this weekend for the provincial championships. They are up against Richmond, Coquitlam and New Westminster.
