Fort 91Ô­´´'s Nadine Mross named rowing coach of the year, twice

Won both B.C. and Canadian awards

Fort 91Ô­´´'s Nadine Mross has been named rowing coach of the year for both B.C. and Canada.

As head coach of the , Fort 91Ô­´´'s Nadine Mross has shown "unwavering commitment, positivity, and passion for developing well-rounded athletes."

That was the wording of her Rowing Canada 2024 coach of the year award, which went on to say over her 16 years with the 91Ô­´´-based rowing club, "Nadine has guided athletes to success at provincial and national levels while fostering personal growth, resilience, and teamwork."

It was one of two such awards for Mross, who just retired.

She has also been named the Rowing B.C. coach of the Year.

"Comments in the nominations for Nadine highlighted her strength in celebrating and respecting everyone on the team, and prioritizing having a positive sport experience over winning," the B.C. award said.

"That’s not to say that improvement and performance aren’t also a focus – she is determined and pushes her athletes to be the best version of themselves both on and off the water. In all of her years of involvement at the Fort 91Ô­´´ Youth Rowing Society, Nadine has consistently gone above and beyond in how she supports the club, and supports the individual athletes to reach their personal goals and potential."
