91Ô´´ Blaze's Mike Krische slides safely into third base during a recent Premier Baseball League game at McLeod Park. Krische was 3-for-3, needing just a triple to hit for the cycle, as the Blaze blasted the North Delta Blue Jays 12-0.

The 91Ô´´ Blaze responded to being docked 12 wins in the victory column by blasting the North Delta Blue Jays 12-0.

Jeremy Filipek struck out nine over four innings while allowing just one base hit and Brad Smith fanned the side in the fifth and final inning on Tuesday night at Mackie Park in U18 Premier Baseball League action.

And the Blaze offence was highly efficient, scoring 12 runs off 12 hits.

Mike Krische led the way, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four RBIs.

Krische was just a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.

Luke Simpson also drove in a pair of runs, while Jerod Bartnik, Ricky Bertrand and Scott McCarthy had one RBI apiece.

The victory improved 91Ô´´ to 23-23 in the B.C. Premier Baseball League while North Delta dropped to 18-24.

The Blaze were forced to forfeit 12 victories after they were found guilty of using ineligible players during a 17-game stretch — where they went 12-5 — in May and June.

As a result, 91Ô´´ fell from first place in the 13-team league to sixth place.

They have two games remaining in the regular season, a doubleheader on July 19 in Victoria against the Eagles (13-25).

If 91Ô´´ wins both games, they are guaranteed a spot in the post-season.

The Blaze have won the past three BCPBL championships.
