ALL West names players and coaches of the year

91Ô­´´-based Lacrosse league wraps up season

James Rahe, Mark Yingling, Kordell Primus and Christian Del Bianco each took home an individual honour and the Grizzlies were named top coaching staff in year-end Arena Lacrosse League West awards in 91Ô­´´ on April 6, after the league finals ended with a win by the Shooting Eagles.

James Rahe, Sea Spray – Most Valuable Player

Rahe tied for the ALL West lead with 37 goals and was second in points with 60. He also led all players with a 5.0 points per game average in the 12 games he played.

In January, Rahe set a new ALL West record by scoring eight goals in a single game.

Mark Yingling, Shooting Eagles – Offensive Player of the Year

Yingling, who was named first star in both ALL West final games, was tops among all players with 67 points, while sharing the goal-scoring lead with Rahe at 37 goals.

Kordell Primus, Black Fish – Defensive Player

Primus was a key defender for the Black Fish while chipping in with five goals and seven points.

Christian Del Bianco, Grizzlies – Most Outstanding Goaltender

Del Bianco led all goalies with a goals against average of 10.20 goals and an .815 save percentage as he suited up in nine of his team’s 14 games. Del Bianco’s 325 saves were also tied for the league lead, and he finished with 14 assists, also tops among goaltenders.

Grizzlies – Coaching Staff of the Year

The Grizzlies staff consists of Daren Fridge, Kyle Goundrey, Ryan Williams, Rick Williams, Brian Borkowsky and Christian Del Bianco. The team went 5-9 during the regular season with four of those losses coming by a single goal, two of which came in overtime. They also posted the second-lowest goals against average per game among the four teams.

Arena Lacrosse League is recognized as the ‘Official Minor League of the National Lacrosse League.'

Established in 2017, ALL operates an eight-team East Division based in Ontario as well as a four-team West Division, which plays out of 91Ô­´´ Events Centre.

Since its inception, more than 175 ALL players have played in the NLL.
