Abbotsford Canucks goalie Arturs Silovs has been named the American Hockey League鈥檚 goaltender of the month.
It鈥檚 the second time that the Latvian product has earned the honour, as he also was named AHL goaltender of the month in February 2023. He is the only Abbotsford Canucks goalie to receive the honour.
Silovs made five appearances for the Canucks in November, putting together a record of 4-1-0, a goals against average of 1.01 and a save percentage of .958. He also collected two shutouts and stopped 114 of 119 shots.
He blanked the Henderson Silver Knights on Nov. 4 and then shutout the Bakersfield Condors on Nov. 11.
The 22-year-old has a record of 7-2-1, a goals against average of 2.53 and a save percentage of .909 so far this season. He鈥檚 currently tied for fifth in the AHL in wins and third for shutouts.
Silovs is the all-time Abbotsford Canucks leaders in wins (36) and shutouts (seven). Over parts of four seasons, he has a career AHL record of 36-21-6-7, a goals against average of 2.55 and a save percentage of .906. He was named the Abbotsford Canucks most valuable player last season.
He also played five games with the Vancouver Canucks last season, posting a record of 3-2, a goals against average of 2.75 and a save percentage of .908.
Silovs was a sixth round draft selection by Vancouver in 2019 and earned tournament MVP honors at the 2023 IIHF World Championship after backstopping Latvia to a bronze medal.
He will be a restricted free agent following this season.
