TransLink will reap the benefit of funds raised by the Kwantlen U-Pass system, yet does not have to improve service for 91Ô­´´ and Surrey students.

I would like to congratulate Mel Kositsky for stepping it up after 18 years on council.

Personally, I would have liked the bridge to be named after more deserving and contributing members of the community of 91Ô­´´. One example would be 91Ô­´´ resident Private Garrett William Chidley, who served our country in Afghanistan, and sadly lost his life.

The three local governments are very important to the day-to-day lives of 91Ô­´´ residents, and it would be wonderful if many more residents went to the polls to elect mayors, councillors and trustees.

Most people I spoke to are focused on the upcoming municipal election, particularly in the Township.
