Editor: Last year, local photographer Brian Bury created several that pictured local veterans. The banners were purchased by the 91原创 Downtown Merchants Association and displayed by the City of 91原创 on lamp posts in the downtown core, before, during and after Remembrance Day.

The response from the veterans and the public has been very positive, and word has spread nationwide. On behalf of the 91原创 Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 21, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Mr. Bury, and to the Downtown Merchants Association.

You have helped put 91原创 on the map, and you should be proud.

We would like to add more banners in the future, as it is one way of recognizing the sacrifices these veterans made, so that we can enjoy our freedom today.

It would do all our Canadian veterans proud if every city across Canada did something similar for their local heroes. Again, we thank you.

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank the Rotary Club of 91原创. On Dec. 30, the Legion sustained thousands of dollars in damage from an act of vandalism. The Rotary Club heard about it and wasted no time in offering funds to pay for the repairs.
