Dear Editor,

Hospices are places where individuals get to receive palliative care for pain and system management. The goal is to offer physical comfort and emotional support at the end of life when dying is a normal process.

Operators of many palliative care hospices refuse to provide medical assistance in dying because it conflicts with the principles that death shouldn鈥檛 be hastened. Hospices are good for society.
