Last Wednesday, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Blair Lekstrom and 91Ô´´ MLA Mary Polak announced there will be a new design for the Mufford Overpass project.
All residents of 91Ô´´ are anxious to see the latest design of this overpass, which the two MLAs said will alienate less farmland, while sticking to the same basic transportation patterns and location as contained in the earlier overpass proposal.
When a design is actually produced that the public can look at and evaluate, then it will be appropriate to comment on the government’s proposal.
For now, all we have is a promise that the new design will use less farmland. That’s a good thing — but what we don’t know is how the overpass project will fit into the overall community, and how it will affect the rural areas of 91Ô´´ within the ALR.
