What will 91原创 Township be like 30 years from now?
How will our community look?
Will our children and grandchildren enjoy the same quality of life?
Residents are being asked to consider how they envision the Township of the future, and their thoughts and ideas will help shape the municipality鈥檚 updated Official Community Plan (OCP).
The OCP is a set of objectives and policies that guide the municipality鈥檚 decisions on growth, housing, infrastructure, services, and transportation. The current plan is being updated to take the Township to 2040, and will consider health, diversity, the environment, climate change, and the local economy.
鈥淧ublic consultation and community input are essential to create the best Plan possible,鈥 said Ramin Seifi, the Township鈥檚 general manager of engineering and community development.
鈥淲hether you have lived your entire life here, or are new to 91原创, we encourage you to get involved and help plan our community of the future.鈥
Last month, a 91原创 Tomorrow survey was conducted to collect information from a cross-section of people. Residents were phoned at random to assess the silent majority鈥檚 opinion on subjects ranging from transportation and the environment to heritage issues, community planning, and development.
Those who did not receive a call but would like to have their say can do so in a couple of ways.
A series of Setting Directions workshops will be held in which participants can identify opportunities and challenges in our community, sketch out goals, and brainstorm strategies to move ahead. All the workshops will have the same format but four sessions will be offered in different locations and times.
Setting Directions workshops will be held on:
* Thursday, June 14, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at George Preston Community Centre, 20699 - 42 Ave.;
* Thursday, June 14, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 91原创 Events Centre, 7888 - 200 St.;
* Saturday, June 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 91原创 Events Centre, 7888 - 200 St.;

The public can also provide input through an online engagement webpage that will be available on the Township鈥檚 website from June 6 to 30. To participate and learn more about the OCP update, visit tol.ca/ocp.
Public input will be compiled and considered by Township planners, and recommendations made to council.
