Burnaby RCMP say traffic continues to be impacted on Highway 1 as police investigate a shooting from Saturday night.
Police said the westbound slow lane on Highway 1 is closed about 500 metres east of the Willingdon Avenue off-ramp.
Traffic is excepted to be impacted through the morning and "potentially well into the day." RCMP suggested an alternate route or to plan accordingly for delays.
On Saturday (March 15), a 71-year-old man was shoot in a wooded area near Highway 1 and Willingdon Avenue. Police said the victim, who appeared to have been living in the wooded area, has serious injuries, but is in stable condition.
RCMP said on Saturday that the motive is still under investigation, but "it is believed to be an isolated incident."
