It's election day in Canada, and it's time for residents in 91Ô´´ to cast their ballot.
A new federal government is expected to be named tonight, as Canada’s 2025 snap election gets underway.
The nation's 45th federal election was called on March 23, amid a trade war with the United States. Since the writ was dropped the country's main political parties have been campaigning for the 343 seats in the House of Commons including Mark Carney’s Liberals, Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives, Jagmeet Singh’s New Democrats, Elizabeth May and Jonathan Pednault’s Greens, Yves-François Blanchet’s Bloc Quebecois, and Maxime Bernier’s People’s Party of Canada.
Polls are open in British Columbia from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. PST today.
Where you can vote:
Electors must vote only at their assigned polling place. This is different from the process in some provincial elections, where electors can vote at any polling location.
To find out your local poll location, visit the and type in your street address.
Alternatively, Canadians can look at their voter registration card. Voters can only visit their specified polling location.
To vote, electors must prove their identity and address. The list of accepted ID can be found .
