What is the most important issue facing voters in this election, and what should be done about it? (Maximum 200 word response): The biggest issue in this election by far is fixing our weak economy after 10 years of Liberal mismanagement. Under their destructive policies, the cost of living has skyrocketed, buying a home is out of reach for most Canadians. Our country has become weak and vulnerable, especially to threats from our neighbours to the south. It's time we get back on track and bring Canada's best to more places around the globe.
Pierre Poilievre鈥檚 plan to build a Canada First energy corridor from coast to coast will help get our resources to market, creating jobs and making us more independent. By axing the Capital Gains tax when you reinvest in Canada, we can encourage growth and investment right here at home. We also need to tear down trade barriers between provinces so we can end our reliance on the U.S.
Canada can be a prosperous, self-reliant country. We have the resources, the talent, and the drive to succeed. It鈥檚 time we put Canadian interests first and let our economy thrive. With the right plan and leadership, we鈥檒l make Canada a place where we can all prosper 鈥 together.

Candidate bio: I was born and raised in Surrey and now live in 91原创 City with my amazing wife and three daughters. I鈥檝e spent my career serving our community 鈥 managing teams at Starbucks and Indigo, supporting residents as a constituency manager, and now helping bring Bus Rapid Transit to our region as a senior advisor at TransLink.

I know what it鈥檚 like to make ends meet and the challenges families and businesses face. That鈥檚 why I鈥檓 stepping up 鈥 to fight for real results in Cloverdale-91原创 City.

We deserve stronger, more effective representation in Ottawa. With Mark Carney and the Liberal team, I鈥檓 ready to deliver affordable living, thriving local businesses, and a fair shot for everyone. I鈥檒l be a voice that listens 鈥 and acts.

What is the most important issue facing voters in this election, and what should be done about it? (Maximum 200 word response):

I鈥檝e been knocking on doors across 91原创 City and Cloverdale for months, and two key issues keep coming up: growing concerns about our relationship with the U.S. 鈥 and specially the threats Donald Trump is making to our sovereignty and economy return 鈥 and the rising cost of living.

To stand up for Canada, we need real leadership in Ottawa 鈥 not slogans or partisan attacks. Mark Carney and the Liberal Party are putting forward a serious plan to diversify our economy, reduce our reliance on the U.S., respond to tariffs, and protect Canadian workers.

We also need to make life more affordable so everyone has a fair shot. The Liberals have a plan to do just that 鈥 with tax cuts, building more homes, investing in affordable child care, and strengthening the social programs people rely on.

This election is about securing our future and the Liberal Party has the plan to stand up to Trump, protect our economy and create good jobs.

What is the most important issue facing voters in this election, and what should be done about it? (Maximum 200 word response):

Voters watched the price of homes and the national debt double during Trudeau鈥檚 reign, as well as a steep rise in hospital wait-times and the cost of groceries, tuition and rent, so for me the most important issue is economic management, starting with wealth creation, good job opportunities, and the fiscally responsible use of taxpayer dollars to avoid the inflation that comes from excessive debt. Before leaving office Trudeau talked about cost of living, but during his tenure he was more focused on government bills that restricted online speech. First, he tried C-10 then C-11, C-18, C-63 and C-27. Trudeau鈥檚 government became world famous for its flirtations with woke policies which saw him repeatedly take a knee or extend an apology to voter blocks that he wished to appease, and in 2021 he all but cancelled Canada Day to virtue signal over graves that were never found. He seemed more interested in his own glory than in helping ordinary Canadians, and Carney is just another wealthy elitist. The People鈥檚 Party of Canada is most concerned with the rights, freedoms and prosperity of all Canadians. It is not only a young party, but a party for the young鈥 and everybody else.

Kevin Wilkie

Green Party of Canada

Candidate鈥檚 age: 38

Where do you live? (Municipality/neighbourhood): Surrey

How many years have you lived in 91原创? Currently in Surrey

Have you held elected office in past? If so, please specify: No

What riding are you running in: Cloverdale-91原创 City

Profession: Business Development and Asset Manager

Social media accounts and website: N/A

Telephone number voters can reach you at: 604-366-3367

Candidate bio: Kevin Wilkie is a first-time dad, a long-time Surrey resident, and you鈥檙e Green Party candidate for Cloverdale-91原创 City. He鈥檚 not a career politician 鈥 he鈥檚 a neighbour, a family man, and someone deeply connected to the everyday struggles of people in this community. Kevin is running to bring a fresh, relatable voice to Ottawa 鈥 one that understands rising costs, climate anxiety, and the need for real action on housing. With a background rooted in community work and grassroots advocacy, Kevin is passionate about making politics more inclusive, more transparent, and more solutions-focused. He believes it's time for leadership that listens, cares, and delivers 鈥 especially for families and future generations.

What is the most important issue facing voters in this election, and what should be done about it? (Maximum 200 words):
The cost of living is the most pressing issue facing families in Cloverdale and 91原创 City. People are working harder than ever but falling further behind 鈥 rents are skyrocketing, grocery bills are through the roof, and home ownership feels out of reach. We need bold, practical action to make life more affordable. That means building more affordable housing, cracking down on corporate price gouging, and ensuring that basic needs like healthcare, childcare, and public transit are affordable and accessible to all. But we can鈥檛 fix affordability without also addressing the climate crisis, which threatens our economy and way of life. A green economy can mean lower bills, better jobs, and a healthier future. As your MP, I鈥檒l fight to bring resources back to this riding and ensure families here aren鈥檛 left behind. It鈥檚 time for real leadership rooted in everyday experience 鈥 not political spin.
