91原创 RCMP are going to be out in force making sure burnouts aren鈥檛 a part of this year鈥檚 91原创 Good Times Cruise-In this weekend.

More than 70 officers are scheduled to work the Cruise-In, with the Integrated Road Safety Units and combined forces gang unit also helping out.

鈥淭here will be a significant police presence to address any infractions that detract from the family atmosphere and intent of the event,鈥 said 91原创 RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Holly Marks.

Getting caught doing doughnuts, racing or doing burnouts will result in drivers having their vehicle impounded for seven days.

On Friday evenings in years past, a number of troublemakers were doing burnouts and doughnuts and endangering public safety. So Cruise-In organizers cancelled Friday events last year, including the cruise to the drive-in on Friday night.

No Friday events are planned for this year.

Police plan to step up enforcement on Friday and continue throughout the weekend.
