It was firefighters from the North Fraser fire department, not the Mission department, who were among the emergency personnel who came to 91原创 City Mayor Peter Fassbender鈥檚 aid on Sunday.
The 91原创 City mayor was when the motorcycle he was riding skidded on grass clippings that turned a road surface to 鈥済rease鈥� during a charity ride.
Fassbender said that as his motorcycle went off the road, he made the split second decision to 鈥渂ail,鈥� rolling several times to avoid falling down the 30-foot precipice. It was dotted with tree stumps and barbed wire.
鈥淚 was fortunate that I saw it coming,鈥� said the mayor, who recuperated at home on Monday and returned to work on Tuesday. He is still sore from several bruised ribs and a damaged lung.
