A heavy steel door may have been enough to thwart a break and enter at Berezan liquor store in Willoughby on Sunday morning, Aug. 26.

The culprits left empty-handed, but surveillance tape has given 91原创 RCMP images of the , a man and a woman, and the white cube van they likely expected to use to haul away their loot.

The cube van bears a black crown logo on the side of the  truck box.

The break-in attempt occurred at about 6:30 a.m. Alerted by the security alarm, 91原创 RCMP officers went to the store in the 19900 block of 84 Avenue where they found damage to a steel door.

It appeared that someone had tried to cut off the hinges, said Cpl. Holly Marks, who speaks for 91原创 RCMP.

鈥淔ortunately the culprit was not able to gain entry and nothing was taken,鈥� Marks said, describing the damage to the door as 鈥渟ignificant.鈥�
