North Vancouver RCMP say a man was arrested for allegedly impersonating a police officer, and now officers are looking for more victims to come forward.
Mounties in North Vancouver were made aware on March 1 that a man driving a Ford F-150 had pulled over a Tesla driver. The Ford driver allegedly identified himself as a North Vancouver RCMP officer and had flashing red and white lights displayed. He wasn't wearing a police uniform, he didn't have any police equipment and he didn't provide police identification.
Three days later, North Vancouver RCMP arrested the driver of the Ford F-150 for allegedly impersonating a police officer and seized the vehicle.
Police say that during the investigation, officers determined there could be additional victims who were pulled over by the same man. RCMP released an image of the vehicle in hope that drivers who may have been pulled over will come forward to provide a statement. People can contact North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file #2025-4197 or contact Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Cpl. Mansoor Sahak said the truck has a light bar placed on the lower centre of the windshield, which resembles lighting used on police vehicles.
"If you recall seeing these features and had a similar interaction, we encourage you to come forward and speak with investigators.鈥

鈥 Contact authorities: If you're uncertain about the legitimacy of the stop, call 911 immediately and provide your location and concerns and the dispatcher can verify if an officer is conducting a traffic stop in your area
鈥 Trust your instincts: If something feels amiss, inform the person that you鈥檙e contacting the police to verify their identity
